Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Who is left

The more you look, the more obvious it becomes that the only people who are still here are the ones who have not landed something else yet. Yet being the key word, since everybody seems to be looking. All those with options seem to be moving on fast.

I'm not leaving without a severance. I'm getting my benefit, because F shart. He downsized all my friends and if he wants people to voluntarily resign to save sev $ then I'm doing the exact opposite. 52 weeks of pay buddy, start writing checks.

@nd let me say, as a max-package when laid off employee, that I used to feel that way, but now I'd leave in a heartbeat for anything close to the same money I'm making here. Holding out for the package is just not worth it anymore. This place continually gets more and more ridiculous with its hoops to jump through just to accomplish the most basic of work.

The problem for the bank, is that we're in a horrible job market, so nobody who wants to is likely to leave because there simply aren't any opportunities for most of us.

Long term employees won’t leave because of PTO and the severance. 33 days PTO + and 52 weeks of severance. Hard to leave

This is true for people who left in 2023 or early 2024, but at this point the job market is seizing up worse than a kia engine with no oil. 2025 is the weakest year since 2003 for job growth (excluding the pandemic years). People are staying because they have no other choice right now.

Its why Charlie's attempts at forcing attrition are doomed to fail. RTO for soft layoffs only works in a job market like we had during the great resignation. At this point the csuite is just cargo culting an old strategy.

@aw happy employees rarely visit this garbage site. Let these losers vent here. What else do they have left??

Not everyone has a terrible situation or is looking to leave. There are some good mangers here. It’s not the rule. Try being more nuanced in thinking.

@an Actually I'd say it's the opposite. Everyone is using AI and it's clogging the system, because everyone looks near perfect on paper.

Love how @OP subtly claims everyone "left" is a garbage employee while we're enduring a second year of the worst job market outside a recession in the past 23 years. Look at any job-related forum, and you'll see posts all through last year complaining about how hard it is to even get interviews, let alone hired. The revised jobs numbers for 2025 show this was the case.

Everyone "left" are just the ones who haven't figured out how to game the AI application hiring systems, lie perfectly on their resume, and/or know someone at the hiring company to help them get to the top of the stack.

I'll say it again, this is the worst job market without being in a recession in the past 23 years. Acting like that is a sign of how bad current employees are is just trolling.

Hi. I’m a unicorn. Is it possible that internal talent HR is editing my LinkedIn profile indeed resume to appear, off or not as great? I am having to continue to update everything and it’s exhausting. My first hours on the job market I got two interviews. Now they got wind of my job search and I have limited interviews.

The job market is the worst it's been in quite some time. Most who are hiring are looking for "unicorns". In other words, they aren't really trying to fill positions, but want to appear like they are. The few actual jobs being filled have 1000 people applying. Other than healthcare, the job market is more or less frozen.
