I can deal with mass layoffs. I can't deal with this guessing game and back and forth on whether it's happening.

@OP What you can control is how to get ready and be prepared should a layoff impact you. In your free time, updated your resume, you LI presence, start connecting w/ recruiters for jobs you might like to do next
If you're on the list, you're on the list. Stop worrying about what you can't control.
What you can control is your performance. Work hard and usually great things happen. If you get sc--wed, well, you can't control what you can't control.
