Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Honestly, I'm grateful to work here

I've worked at a few other banks, and I have to say, this is the best place I've been. It's not perfect, there are real issues, but it's a good job compared to many others. That's exactly why I worry so much about layoffs. I don't want to lose this spot, and I'm truly thankful I still have it.

Good to be grateful for a job.
However, JPM is not a great workplace/employer. There are definitely better out there.
RTO mandate, stiffing employees on bonuses, lowest pay scale in financial industry, unsanitary workplaces, toxic work culture, not to mention extreme offshoring practices. JPM knows no one except immigrants will agree to work at these wages.

@OP what is role, what do you do? Your post is too general and not meaningful to the rest of us. The firm is huge, it may be a good place for some and bad for others. It depends on role, grade, line of business, your current projects and responsibilities, etc. Things change constantly, reorgs. I am glad you like what you do and I wish you well.

@gx

The issues were that you didn't have a huge rise in inflation during the tail end of the Trump 1 administration, then follow by Biden's fiscal spending spree, then lastly the tariffs in this current administration.

We had assigned desks, new joiners had a team lunch on JPMC bill, teams were actually staffed correctly so not much stress unless you were in IB. The 602 pay band today is still the same as pre covid. MDs and EDs located in different cities than where you work travel to visit you, now pure zoom. Currently, no mass surveillance so leaving early there and there wasn't threaten with termination. Coffee cups were placed in lounges.

My beef with JPMC is that I can work somewhere else for less stress, better hours, and most importantly with same or better pay.

How fast would your opinion change if you started getting UBI?

@h9 My friend, you should reflect upon your life and where you are that made you insult someone being grateful they have a job. Most people would agree JPM isn't great, but it takes a truly miserably and nasty person to put them down like that. You could have warned them why its not great or common grievances you have to give them perspective, maybe they are new, or something coming from a MUCH worse employer.

I hope things go better in your life and you change as a person, I can't imagine living like that. I am not a fan of JPM myself.

Not sure why RTO is still an issue? What did you do pre-covid? All cry babies for actually being asked to do a job. No fan here but tome to get over it FFS!

Jamie Dimon still the CEO? Still being an abrasive a--hole about RTO?

Yeah, this place is the drizzling sh--s, no matter how many dimwitted bootlickers claim otherwise.

"I don't want to lose this spot"
your 'job' sounds like a government position
"I've worked at a few other banks"
Calling this place a bank is a stretch.

Your post appears to be some sort of advertisement.
