Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Attention GPs - time to break away

I'd love to see some of our GPs, the OGs that are too young to truly retire but are leaving because they can't stand PP, break off and form something new. I'm thinking like the original owner from Scottrade did. Those OG GPs are the only ones with enough capital to do this.

Associates will follow you. FAs and their clients will, too. Edward Jones is dying. It's time to build something better from its ashes as the ultimate sc--w you to PP and her sh---y ELT cronies.

@2pz Not the person you replied to, but Rachel is the president of the trust company. One of the worst bosses I've had in my 25 year professional career. I don't know about how she became a GP, but she has an abrasive personality and her confidence outweighs her abilities and decision making. A lot of highly skilled, well like people have left the trust company since she took over

@ab Spot on. They are not going anywhere. Don't forget, their GP shares are giving them 50% every year.

Randy Bradshaw (former GP in BD) did this about 5 years ago and formed Amphersam. He ended up poaching lots of big Jones producers. Didn’t phase the firm one bit though, so….

Not sure if theres anyone left that fits the description that would also stand up and have the guts to walk out. Its pretty clear that if you dont fall in line you fall out of favor

Many of the GP's are below average performers doing jobs that would be associate level at BOA or some other place. This is the most money they will ever make with such a low level of output, they aren't going anywhere. Expecting a revolt from them is wishful thinking.
