Deep cuts need to happen in tech even though that won’t fix sales.
The problem is that any survivors will have no motivation to work if the same tech leadership is in place. AC, ES (all vp down to sr managers and in some cases managers. None of them talk to each other and no root cause tech issues are ever fixed.
Truly weak leaders that micro manage or are completely checked out and no, a manager 101 course will not fix that.

To be fair. Everyone was screaming “stop burning money chasing hype conmen” then our leaders went all in on AI with unfettered budgets. And it was blockchain before that. Likely because of undocumented financial incentives.
Some parts of tech have been cut to the bone. Some parts have gone untouched but need be torn from their roots.
As always the working man pays the bill for their bosses indolence..
Tech has seen the deepest cuts on the last two years and barely operating with overstretched staff.
How is tech responsible if your revenues are declining? Why not for the business leaders who are supposed to maje products that sell and the teams actually responsible for marketing Nike products.
But no but just because Id--t Hill doesn't understand tech we have to pay the price.
@e7 who is going to to do that? Consultants? They operate the same way.
@bb
what company
nike is more of a cross between an ongoing garage sale and the titanic
JC and AS should be sent away too. JC is busy building a bunch of stuff the company doesn’t need. AS is busy acting important with CIS but makes no difference.
How are we not talking about the giant, bloated waste that is NDDC? Just a ton of people with no tech knowledge pretending to drive “strategy”. They come to the tech teams with “Here’s the plan to save us!” with crazy, unsubstantiated numbers that it will supposedly drive. it’s all irrelevant stuff that we either are doing already within the tech teams, or that completely is irrelevant. Then there is never any accountability for them. They just talk at everyone, and don’t actually do anything. How is MM still here?
If there are to be layoffs, you really need to do it right to clean up the corporation's culture of nepotism and favoritism. Otherwise, you still end up with people with high titles who do nothing, while maybe letting go of the ones who do everything. However, Nike needs a good sweeping to clean up its culture of nepotism and favoritism, along with some high-ranking titles that serve no purpose. But to do that, you need some absolute, true honesty and a really good look in the mirror, which a lot of people don't want to face.
Kaushik is of zero use and driven by personal agenda as opposed to actually helping the company . His team hates him. He should be the first to be eliminated. Layers are being removed to simplify and increase the ability to make decisions, the perfect reason to rid ourselves of him and the function of the team.
"we are a fu**ing Shoe company" - is an ignorant statement. Unless you walk into work and stitch shoes and sell door to door in your cart. Nike has plenty of people that don't understand tech, they are the real reason for decline.
Time to fire DA, the head of the snake. That old worthless goat has fingers in all of this.
He’s always standing next to the rats.
@bk the DEs are the biggest waste of money ever...and what the he-l have they provided? Oh yeah broken AI.....let's shoe hirn AI into everything, we are a fu--ing shoe company for gods sake...if you have seen the AI designed shoes it is no wonder Nike is crashing against the rocks.
@OP honestly many of the so called DEs need to go. The only thing distinguished about the, is their incompetence and runner vision ivory tower mindset. Worst no talent communicators ever. They are a big part of the problem.
Keep hoping your colleagues going down. It's nice to see some camaraderie in the company.
are u talking about that MD hire that replaced that guy that quit who wanted the cto role but never got it, the person that still live in TX, that person, her?
never seen or heard her speak, maybe have seen 1 initial email, then nothing
I think she's out, MD is out, so she's out too, I think they'll just role that FT org up under one of the many tech VP's, wise move would say, less layers the better, cut a few vp's while at it
All of techmod and especially KK
Oh man, MR has been a walking disaster, total dead weight, zero clue what they're doing, and somehow still collecting a paycheck. But yeah, you're spot on: the real purge needs to start higher up. Specifically fire every single director and senior director while we're at it. That is the real rot in GT.
@a9 can you add another letter to figure out who they are?
It’s always us in tech that need layoffs… Maybe we should start laying off teams that make products that no one wants to buy. I’m sure those teams have deep pockets of management that could use a very deep pruning based on major lack of performance.
there are lot of unqualified people at VP SRDRa and DR level. lot of clean up needs to happen honestly.
Definitely AC, LP, and KS from tech.
OMG hiring MR might have been the worst I’ve seen. She literally knows nothing. Joins meetings, asks questions that a junior person should know, and everyone sees through it. They were so desperate to protect optics of CJ departure they put her in a role she is not qualified for at all. How did she get here??? Does her own team see this or just us a few layers below? No way her peers cannot see it.
Not sure where she lives but hopefully she doesn’t move and just resigns.
Forgot MR?
