Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I give up

I refuse to work another weekend. Most days since the RIF notice have been 16 hours. My eyes are blurry. For what? Now, now it’s a priority to create documentation and do migrations. Before all this, just give to so and so.

If they withhold my severance sc--w it I’ll stock groceries at least the work ends when you leave for the shift. Good luck to all.

You don't want to get burned out. Take vacation time if you can. I don't know why some "leaders" wait until one is about to leave(due to nothing they have done) to try to learn what your job responsibilities are, 1)create a PowerPoint or flowchart before you go( they will take credit after you are gone), 2)by the way train --+, oh and keep doing your regular job. You have to train because it's not fair to those left behind....Was it fair that I have to leave? Please take care of yourself. Contact HR if necessary, yes they protect the company but at least there's a record of the abuse.

My boss hasn't even told me who to transition my work to. I have 2 weeks left.
That's not my problem....that's his!

Use your sick time, then sprinkle in some more until you get a warning, then pretend to work. You owe the company nothing more. Takes Verizon years to fire someone, so you are safe in making it to your severance date.

16 hour days? You’re doing your job wrong. learn to delegate or say no, not work like a drone and bi--h about your own choices.

You work 8 hours to live 4.

You work 6 days to enjoy 1.

You work 8 hours to eat in 15 minutes.

You work 8 hours and sleep only 5.

You work all year just to get a month off.

You work all your life to retire (or get let go) in old age.

And when it’s all said and done, you’re left wondering… what was it all for?

We get so used to chasing success that we don’t even notice the chains we’ve put on ourselves.

You weren’t meant to just survive.

Life isn’t meant to be postponed.

It’s a short journey.

Make it count.

"Before all this, just give to so and so." @OP
As a manager I spent my career passing the buck to. Now there's no one there and I have to do it.
It rolls down hill, and I'm now at sea level and drowning in sudden work.
