From the Verge - announcing the new plans : In the press event, Verizon Consumer Group CEO Sowmyanarayan Sampath said the new plans come after “years and years” of consumer research, and he noted that customers are willing to spend more on a reliable network and save money elsewhere. “They use one-ply toilet paper if they need to, but when it comes to networks, they want quality because of how much time they spend on it,” Sampath said.
Who cares. And we need to stop referring to them as leadership. They are the ones who drove this company into the ground

@OP Because Sampath will soon announce that he is stepping down.
Additionally, due to the numerous bad decisions during his tenure resulting in the recently layoffs, he in good conscience cannot accept his retention bonus. Instead Sampath will be asking for the $4 million dollars to be distributed to the 13,000 affected VTeamers.
