People talk over you, credit gets stolen, and kindness feels like an oddity. It drains you faster than the work itself.

If Met is the cake of bad culture then brighthouse, the company which got spin off is a cherry on top of it! toxic culture led by mo--ns in charlotte.
@vd yikes and I thought my org's leadership is cringe.
I got laid off from Met a few months ago, so it's not like I'm in the mood to be a cheerleader. But this kind of culture is VERY team-dependent. The groups I worked with were really good people who would go out of their way to make sure credit went to those who reported up through them. We had one guy who would gladly steal credit (or probably throw you right under a literal bus, for that matter 😂 ), but he was let go over a year before the current layoffs started.
Unfortunately higher ups in the enterprise wanted to fund those stock buybacks to make the shareholders happy - and to ensure their own bonuses - at the expense of jobs & the sanity of those left behind to pick up the slack.
@rf naw.. he's talking about someone else. The one you're referring to always says "we SERVE at the feet of our master..." and he's not talking about God.

@kj Is that the one who won't shut up during open calls? Who talks for 29 1/2 minutes of a 30 minute call and says the same damn thing 20 times?

@OP GTO in Cary is the worst. AVP's who will stab you in the back while looking you in the eye, VP's who brag about vacations to the working class. Su-k Ups who flaunt their manually wound watches to the CISO while pulling a scam of 'pay me more, or I'll quit' every 6 months, back-biting harpies with failed personal lives forever spy on everyone and run to senior management as a way to keep their jobs... it's a never-ending drama show.
@OP yes, and they will gaslight you into thinking you are imagining all of these very things. You are not. It's all very real and happening, every single day.
