Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

What’s the spin on WMT’s results?

WMT’s comparable sales up 4.5%, TJX comparable sales up 5%, TGT comparable sales down 2.7%.

How is Fiddelke going to spin this?

Target c-suite and other sr leaders are too arrogant to open their eyes. The culture it toxic. The lack of focus on the core business and growth has been a problem for a very long time. Just look at the people who get promoted into Sr jobs now. Many are superficial climbers who only care about getting ahead. I decided to leave 4 years ago because I did not feel valued or appreciated. My SVP was d-mbfounded that I left and completely clueless that me and several other people who were instrumental in driving the business could completely see through her narcissistic self service personality. On so many levels they've run the business into the ground while Walmart runs laps around them. It's incredibly sad and didn't need to happen.

WMT grew by Target’s entire market cap in 3 years. WMT is growing because Target customers broke the habit of going to Target and once that happens it is very difficult to get them back.

Go to their page on this website, it has been a bloodbath. No raises, no equity, next to no bonus unless you run an entire store.

WMT also did massive layoffs in 2022, is doing huge store layoffs now, and has a zero-growth employee headcount strategy.

Too much glut and dead weight in the office.

Funny how there are not whole furums of Walmart corporate employees kicking and screaming about hybrid work awhile back or WFH.

The litmus test for productivity is when people kick and scream about hybrid work. Means you are getting away with something.

Think about it: you are their employee, not the other way around. A day or two back at the office should be no big deal if that us what they want.

Seriously, it's work. I notice the weird nicely groomed beard workers with their black license plates out shopping during work hours. They go to stores complaining they can't get help from employee at the stores.

Weird groomed bearded coffee drinkers=self centered selfish people

Ahem:

“Only One Target.”

“Best Team in Retail.”

“Authentic Self First.”

“Target Needs to be Target.”

That is all you need to know about what the C suite has to say.
