According to the article below, Nokia has notified 2500 employees of RIFs (most likely they had to notify them due to country laws - like the ones in Europe). Well, where do you think the other 2500 employee RIFs are going to be coming from? My guess would be in countries where they don't have to give advance notice such as USA (hence perform to win - "By the way, let me make you feel worthless without a penny in your pocket on your way out," said the snake.) .

"It has now landed on the upper figure of 14,000 and reckons it has another 5,000 to go, with only 2,500 employees notified of impending redundancy so far."

@d9 By the way, according to the Finland President (when visiting Trump) he mentioned Nokia has 7000 employees in USA. If they plan to cut 9000 more to meet the 70000 target, they will run out of employees to cut from USA. They'll have to borrow from Canada. LOL!

Nokia employees 2024 = 76K
Acquisition of Infinera added 3000 more employees.
Therefore, total currently = 79000
If 70000 is the target, they have 9000 more to cut.
I don't think this lightreading article took into account Infinera additions.
