Don't need to. They took advantage of covid money printing and related inflation and weak business to reduce the real, inflation adjusted base salaries of employees by 20% over the last several years. Great for the business. Employees are too foolish to realize that this wound was never healed (Patty's healing process's predictable shortfall).

Maybe WD is still working through the separation process and now are in streamlining phase for both businesses. It's easier to hide bloat in a multi-business operation and now they have to stand on their own. IMO, STX cut too much and we are still trying to rebuild groups.

Too many got rich on the stock and retired. No need to layoff but STX will find a way to do one anyway.

I doubt STX will do any big layoffs. Seagate didn't hire a lot in the recent year.

We will match and double the cuts to beat WD.
we just waited on their number to beat them.
They do 100, we do 200.
They do 10%, we do 20%
............
Great to work for Seagate
