Former Network Assurance here. In my experience, drive times never seemed to matter to my Manager/Associate Director. And then even available Techs for the projects being pushed out never did either. When trying to explain it, all I always got was a blank look.

This is rubbish, cutting 50% mean there is no way for Verizon to maintain or even upgrade the network. There are areas that you have 4 engineers that cove 500 square miles. If that is reduced to 20 people that is a coverage area of 250 miles per person thus taking 3 to 4 hours to drive to a single trouble ticket area and when each engineer has 3 to 5 tickets a day it's not humanly possible. So unless Verizon is willing to have network locations down for days I am saying is this BS to the OP.
