Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

WFH until EOY

I’m done with RTO for the rest of the year. Seriously. This whole 5 day grind has drained every ounce of motivation I had left. If we aren’t back to a sane hybrid schedule next year, I’m out. No hesitation. No second guessing.

I love my work, I’m good at it, and I’ve given this place more than enough chances to get its act together. But I’m not sacrificing my health, my time, or my sanity for a policy that does nothing but burn people out and push talent out the door.

Fix it or lose the people who actually keep this place running. The clock’s ticking.

I am gonna be honest. I am here to stay. Nobody else will pay me what I make here . That is probably the same for most of you all too. Su-k it up til you get surplus.

@cj that’s easy. Just start rolling by their office and blowing your air horns and your cowbells and tell them you’re celebrating wins and accomplishments. Bring the open floor plan to them.

What's actually keeping anyone from just lying at this point? We all know how unreliable the reporting is, might as well take advantage of that

You have enough vacation to take to not have to RTO. For the rest of you “Pull up your bootstraps and RTO”.

Take your talents where they will be respected and appreciated. As long as AT&T is run by an egomaniac narcissist pr*ck like John Stankey, the company will continue to falter. I retired 18 months ago and I can assure you there are far better opportunities than AT&T. He wants a market based culture, give him one. The market always demands and seeks talent. Leverage the market my friend as many of us have done. Best of luck.

“That’s the whole plan. Get people to quit without severance.”

The plan is to have FT employees work FT hours.

Hi folks. Today, I received an email from my VP advising us that his organization will be implement hybrid mode starting on January 5, 2026. The hybrid mode entails working 2 office days and 3 remote/home days. The 8-hour per day still applies and the presence report will continue to be tracked/monitored. He also stated every organization within the company is different and this policy is not meant for the whole company.

I guess that will be my early Christmas gift. 🎅🤶🧑‍🎄🎄❄️⛪

Working in an open floor plan is extremely draining, stressful, and just plain su-ks, they know it, yet continue to go all in. Meanwhile, HR and GRE have their own little private, quiet kingdoms. That’s what’s so maddening.

@ba

RTO just goes to show plenty of freeloaders in office, and yet many RTO’ers just like to gossip about stupid sh-t. the management controls obviously su-k because these people continue to milk the system, driving down morale while the good ones leave.

We won’t even know you left unless you come back here to whine more. Good luck finding what you’re looking for out there. Maybe your generation can 6-7 your way into a new career. Barista is cool but you still have to show up five days so you might not get that unless you go part time.

Whoever is asking for work from home are free riders and don’t need to show frustration here. They can quit. Thats what AT&T thinks and presented in real word inspite of what some one were really doing. Although they knew all were not free riders but to save AT&T blunder they are doing it.

@aq - if venting on a public forum was good for the OP, then it accomplished something for them. Maybe not for you so just keep it to yourself please.

LMAO. May the odds be ever in your favor.

PS: Grand Stink wants you to leave. He doesn’t care. He’s begging for you to give him a reason to cut you without severance.

@av it’s funny you think someone needs to physically be in an office to “actually work”. If that’s the case for you, then you are the problem.

@OP
Employees have a right to resist policies that they deem counterproductive. However, when a corporations policies negatively impact you, the wise thing to do is to intelligently and strategically leave.
Venting on public forums accomplishes nothing. Just saying; in fact, it suggests you aren't serious about changing your situation!

@a7 just because someone is a terrible leader doesn’t mean I need to run away….i opt to stay and make a difference in the area I’m in. I just don’t need to be in an office to do it.

Running away as a first instinct says more about you… doesn’t it? Soyboy
