They will re-hire the contractors (or similar) in Jan/Feb after the books close for YE.
Same happens every year. Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
Sux, but true.
My heart breaks for those impacted.
Our team just re-hires the same contractors every year or two when we have to go thru this charade.
What a spineless d-mb mngt team. Just hire these people at FT with the benefits they deserve, you cheap-azz mofos.
@em hey Matt!
@10m I dunno I don't doubt your sincerity, but Albany? Really? I am not aware Albany is on of the preferred destinations for the glorious mothership? After all these years, if so, and I'm always open to correction, you would think HR has figured out who from Albany likes to cheer on their primary layoff rumor board?
@10x troll checked your profile you are still active
WOW... I was working on a big project we presented today. After the presentation, my manager told me that they are eliminating my role and thanked me for my 8 years of service.
Right before the holidays, gee thanks a lot. What a way to say thanks to a long time employee! FU BOFA!
Green Grass in Albany NY!
@r2 what did you do with it?
I also got the lay off today.
@ke
LHH (Lee Hecht Harrison) is the outplacement services company in Charlotte, North Carolina, commonly known by the acronym LHH.
LHH, a global leader in career transition and outplacement services (part of the Adecco Group), offers personalized career coaching, job search support, resume branding, leadership development, and active placement assistance to help individuals affected by layoffs or transitions find new opportunities.
I did some investigating in our contract system and looked up the company LHH. If you know you know. They are an outplacement service company for people who get laid off. A new three year contract was recently published this year. Qty: Sr executives 1,070; executive 775; professional 535. So it appears they expect to layoff 2,380 within the next three years. Not a large amount if you ask me.
Yep and laying off under warn notice is still layoff. They don't want to spook what meagar staff is left into going elsewhere, too. That would REALLY f*** with their plans, LOL.
Two folks got walked out on my floor today in Charlotte BTW.
This is true. They will layoff under any warn notices. SLT has been really open about this.
I see bunch of janitors are sacked. Unfortunately, @OP is one of ’em
Tech
@em Sorry that happened. What area did you work in?
Yes, unfortunately it did indeed happen! Be careful out there folks!
@OP Did it happen? Are you already gone?
@ck - you sound like someone I know from several Teams calls. :)
I also heard this from a reliable source. We are losing 6 contractors on our team tomorrow. Now we will be even FURTHER behind on our project.
FU** MY LIFE!
Can confirm - they started letting contractors go out of the blue, citing bullsh-t reasons. If you're still there, start planning your exit strategy.
@OP what department do you work under?
@OP I heard you are first, get the he-l out of here a--hole.
@OP I heard 100% of everything is being cut. Can you confirm?
