Any RIF information in Housecalls?

Does anyone know or heard anything about RIF in HC operations? There is a strange vibe of a calm before a storm. Visits have been significantly down. Rushed request for self evals. In light of everything being very nervous.

I know HC providers in VT, Mass, PA who all got letters last week stating “Healthcare changes are affecting business and forecasting less advantage members and here are some states you can travel to or go VVV”

@OP I was wondering the same thing considering that UnitedHealth announced in early October 2025 they will exit Medicare Advantage plans in 109 US counties nationwide. https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/unitedhealth-exit-medicare-advantage-plans-16-us-counties-2025-10-01/ . UHC, however, did not publicly disclose which specific counties are being affected. Members find out by receiving a letter that the plan wont be available in their area for 2026. Considering that Housecalls mainly services Medicare advantage members, I've asked management directly about this and the potential impact on Housecalls. They related they have not heard any news from leadership about a RIF in Housecalls yet the vibe of the conversation wasn't optimistic.

Yep, some counties are getting put on ice, hard to say which ones, I’m leaning into my alternative sources of income with still trying to keep a hopeful foot in the door just because of the amazing team I’m with.

I've honestly have noticed a different vibe in the last week. So much so, my boss mentioned in a team meeting that membership in 2026 is depleting and insinuated that they may shift our focus to a different client. They tried to back it up that we are needed but I've been here long enough that I know there is no guarantee anyone's job is safe.
Also my VP moved a quarterly touch base out for a couple more weeks so they can go over 2026 priorities.

First HC was in a new investigation where it was presented that all those nurse practitioners were helping UHC/Optum rip off the government to the tune of millions by increasing the risk adjustment scores. You wonder if you all are on the chopping block. I say so.

@OP I haven’t heard of anything. There has been a ton of attrition and those reqs don't seem to be getting backfilled so hopefully that will ease the RIF lists.

@bq Are you aware that UHC is leaving certain markets and discontinuing some MA plans?! Therefore, the OP is rightfully anxious as it may jeopardize their employment. You on the other hand, sound more like another incompetent member of the management team doing the usual, dismissing employee’s (current/former) concerns.

The rushed self eval request is par for the course. It has been how things are done for the past 6-7 years I've been a part of Optum/UHG.
