I don't know if this is a company thing or a district thing but why would Walmart make Team Leads have to do an evening shift two days a week? Our store has informed all Team Leads that twice a week they have to work a 7-4pm shift and a 2-11pm shift of they have to step down as team lead. Many of our team leads, who are great, have kids or are single parents and cannot take off or find child care for this. Why does Walmart ask what days and times you can work and then make a rule like this.
Also, why does everyone in the store now have to have open availability? Again, why have me fill out a form and ask what days and times I can work and now tell me I will work when and on what day they want me too or I wont get hours. One of our best associates has a special needs child and has to take him for treatment on a certain day and a certain time. Now they have scheduled her for that day and time but she can't make it so she has been cut from 40 hours to 25 hours. Seems unfair and maybe illegal. Thoughts

Probably the most sensitive topic for team leads in the useless, unproductive closing shift. Ignored every survey. Bring back closing support mgrs. TL structure change never worked, the talent pool is so terrible now since this structure change back in 2020.
The easiest and fastest way is to call 1-800-WM-ETHIC. That’s the ethics hotline.
No, it’s not unusual for stores to ask salary workers to change shifts or modify start times. It’s been done plenty. There’s nothing illegal about it. It’s not uncommon at all. Hourly associates set up their availability and work those hours. Additionally, any associate can contact legal if they need to. They might get referred to another spot, but any and every associate can contact legal. That’s been in place for years. There’s numerous ways to do it.
@OP Illegal ???? Have you ever tried to contact the legal dept ???? .... all they had was a email not very long ago, they don't care about "Illegal" and you also signed that agreement that they could fire you for no reason and you could leave for no reason when you started. Walmart buys from China, sales to Americans and puts the money into their banks (Arvest) so what they have essentially done is use China to sc--w Americans and make them rich in a perpetual monopoly and forget about the legality of it they don't give a hoot about lawsuits. It's logo's should be China Red not Blue.
