I just just saw Vz got a new CEO. Does that mean layoffs expected?

The choice of Vestburg as CEO reflects how Verizon was willing to appoint a relative newcomer to double down on its mobile strategy. Vestberg, the former CEO of Ericsson, joined the company last year to oversee the buildout of Verizon’s fiber infrastructure and 5G.
“You couldn’t send a clearer message that the strategy is still all about the network,” said Craig Moffett, an analyst at MoffettNathanson.
Vestberg said Verizon has spent years building its multipurpose network and now has more opportunities for growth than ever before. Verizon’s network can support everything from mobile, to fixed-line to edge computing and it’s just getting started with the metaverse, having partnered with Meta Platforms (FB) to deliver immersive experiences. Verizon is also in a strong position financially, with a strong balance sheet. Vestberg said the company remains committed to paying down debt, returning cash to shareholders via dividend and repurchasing shares when it makes sense to do so.
Jim Cramer said in a turbulent market, of stocks like Verizon, “It works.”

@OP We’re all so sick of politics, pretty sure the same person on here recycles woke and DEI and Trump vs Biden stuff. Don’t care about Republicans vs Democrats. We’re all tired, literally. All we want to know is if there is valid news about layoffs to plan ahead, all we want to hear is we’re okay and the company is doing better. Hoping the fat is trimmed for everything else but the little people working on the frontline. I don’t care who the CEO is, they’re all going to be a millionaire and put the company first financially before anything else. So, I just care about being able to pay my bills, get my benefits and not be overly stressed so I can enjoy my family outside of Verizon. Not asking for much, so keep your feelings to yourself about politics. Pretty sure we’re all over it, from what I see is everyone up there in the government right now looks the same. Making billions while the rest of us carry this country and get sc--wed. So focus on Verizon and doing better so I can pay my many bills
