Holiday RIFs planned :( My husband is in the know at WellMed and he said that true to form, the leaders make terrible decisions and employees pay the price for it. Two layoffs planned. One Nov 20 and one Dec 18 (so much for ANY compassion for people). If you are not directly making the company money or tied to compliance then you are at risk. It doesn't matter how hard you worked or how well you do your job, they will cut to show a profit for 2025. My husband is applying to jobs now, even ones that are lower than his current position; too risky to stay with a sinking ship. It's too bad, he has a great team and an amazing leader and so many professional accomplishments he's been recognized for but it's too risky to stay. His entire team is actively applying for new jobs. We wonder what it will take to stop these layoffs. Being tied to UHG doesn't help either. Good luck everyone. Hope you are not part of this holiday disaster and hope you find something with a stable company. If you survive the holiday RIFs please keep looking in 2026. We hate to see so many suffer while the top leaders cash in their millions in bonuses.
@OP Wellmed in El paso - entire clinic closed with no notice (email at 4:45pm 10/29 for mandatory meeting at 7am 10/30). 12 providers let go, several with more than 15 years with the company. All staff terminated. Other clinics were affected but remain open. Seems all xray techs from this market were terminated + a few people from each clinic.
