Corporate Risk Layoff

10/28/25

After nine years at Wells Fargo, today I was impacted by a layoff from my role in Corporate Risk. It came as a surprise — even my manager wasn’t aware — but it’s clear this was part of broader changes across the organization.

So sorry you got the call. Better days are ahead! Take a couple of weeks to deflate and try to enjoy that paid time! A coworker in my group was tapped and they committed to relocate. I wonder if this person's salary was the highest in our group for the title/role? No idea how folks are chosen - so much for transparency, 'eh?

Too many auditors in risk and most of them lack the right skills and experience.
