Thread regarding CDW layoffs

More layoff coming

Sadly looks like more layoffs coming. Some Procurement and Customer Service roles will be going overseas. Also, more layouts in Sales. Moral is brutal at best and Sr. Leadership has a disconnect with their sales force.

"She is the lead Independent Board Director on Target's Board. Since our Board seems to be oblivious to her deficiencies, maybe we should all buy shares in Target and start to call out her lack of stellar performance on that front."

Yeah, and Target just laid off 1800 people too, this is the Leahy way...... Go check out their board on this site, sounds very familiar.

Interesting headline....

@103 that was their point lol. The comment they were replying to acted like it wasn’t the case.

"Amazon announced Tuesday that it will cut roughly 14,000 corporate jobs, or about 4% of its white-collar workforce, as part of a restructuring meant to “reduce bureaucracy” and “remove organizational layers,” according to a memo. In the memo, Beth Galetti, senior vice president of people experience at Amazon, said the cuts are designed to make the company leaner and more agile as it expands its investments in generative AI. In plain terms, it’s a bet that algorithms can handle many of the coordination, reporting, and decision-making functions once reserved for human managers." https://fortune.com/2025/10/29/amazon-layoffs-ai-middle-managers-robots-factory-workers/

@xd

I would wait until 5am tomorrow to celebrate. Out of the 7 layoffs since 2020:
3 were on a Wednesday
2 were on a Tuesday
1 was on a Thursday
1 exact date unsure (Oct 2023 when finance/AP/AR were quietly outsourced)

So you're saying layoffs happen on days of the workweek, got it. Thanks

@sz 0.0% of layoffs on 29th. Is EOY/early Jan possible? Yes. Maybe even likely.

Earnings call is next week, so if it’s going to happen, it will be tomorrow 10/29 (Bloody Wednesdays are the norm). May the odds be ever in our favor.

@b4

It will happen, either very soon, or early January.

Just heard from a buddy over at Insight, they are doing another round today. Seems that all companies trying to play in the serivces space are not doing well.

@gk Not all of the layoffs were due to off shoring. There was a product manager in the team that I work with, who is in his sixties, that was laid off. That job was not moved international. Imstead, what seems far more obvious is there he did t for the profile that is sought by the Director on the Spectrum boomerang CDW employee whose hires since he came back tend to be in their 30's that he can steam roll over with edicts. Most of us came in through an acquisition and are exiting when new opportunities arrive just to get away from this clown.This autocrat has never stated that he has Asperger's, but that is general consensus.

Adding, that the layoffs that were announced over the summer was/is due to offshoring. I would not be surprised if there were more.

Unless there are additional layoffs....this already occurred, during the summer.

Coworkers were given a future end date to find a new job or take severance.

The futures dates given over the summer were anywhere from October through January.

Are there more coming on top of that?
