Phase 2 RTO Announcement

When will the email be sent ordering remote Phase 2 employees to RTO? I heard rumors it will be as early as January 2026. Anyone with intel on the matter?

@b4 LOL. You seriously think people who live outside the city are going to come in 5 days a week? Maybe for the first week or two, then there will suddenly be an increase in sniffles, migraines, late buses, doctor appts, car trouble... Once things settle in, i'd say 2-3 days at best.

@b4 If I lost my house in a fire then everybody else should too. I don't give a fu-k if your house is in the middle of nowhere.

^What you sound like

@dv Funny thing is, there are hybrid employees in NYC and LA who haven’t been in the office 2 days (let alone once) a week ever. I’m curious what their plan is come January 5, 2026. I’ve been coming in twice a week since 2022 and still haven’t met half my “hybrid” team in NYC.

There are corporate colleagues working in the Caribbean while others have to come in 5 days. Life sure isn’t fair.

@cd Whatever they decide, I hope the do it sooner rather than later. I was wondering if SD would back in their word and do it sooner than March 2025 as they originally stipulated in the RTO FAQ.

@bg Everyone at Paramount is capable of being laid off next week. It doesn't matter if you are in the office or remote, high achiever or under achiever. It's open season on everyone who works for Paramount Global. Next year they will try to figure out what to do with the remaining remote employees. Based on everything I have heard with leadership, they do not have a solid plan in place for Phase 2 people. They are still trying to work it out.

If it's any consolation, you have a 15% chance of getting laid off. That's still a pretty low chance. Not ideal, but better than some companies.

@OP what if you were hired as a remote employee? Will your management team be given a chance to prove your position is necessary? Do we think remote works will be included in the. Layoffs next week ?
