I see so many people just walking away, and it makes me so angry. You’re doing them a favor! Make them lay you off! Make them pay you! Don’t do exactly what they want with everything they’ve been doing and the toxic atmosphere they’ve created. Why? Why would you do something like that?

I had to work 6 more months training my offshore replacement to get any severance. I was never going to degrade myself like that
@a1 yup, that is a good point. Those leaving know how tough the market is.
@OP yuuup pay me to leave
Government, communications, healthcare. Evergreen. Jobs everywhere in every state
Is there a next round in November?
There is no guarantee you will be laid off, so you should do what is best for your situation.
@OP long term it might be better to leave if you find a decent job and disregard the severance. You never know how long finding a job will take. Peace of mind is worth more that a few bonus bucks.
The severance package may work well for people who spent more than 10 yrs at FIS. The package offered at US is not that great for people with tenure less than 5 yrs. Job market is not that great and if you wait until you get laid off with a bare minimum severance package, there is no guarantee you will find a new job before your savings are gone. Don't stop looking and if you find something similar or better, switch.
