Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

How many of you......

How many of you who have left State Farm or have retired from State Farm would go back to work for State Farm today? How many believe State Farm is a better company today compared to what it was 50 years ago?

I would never go back! Its a toxic, sh-t show of a place ran by narcissists. I recently had a claims experience…the app didn't work to file a claim sonInjad to call claims. It was abundantly clear the claim rep hated their job and that injad interrupted their morning. The service was so horrible, I told the claim rep “Nevermind!, I’ll file directly with the other company.” Person who hit me had Geico. It was amazing. Within 24 hours liability was determined and a rental car was reserved. With 48 hours I had an estimate and repair had started. With State Farm the whole thing would have taken months. I told my agent about it their response “Ouch!”. No attempt to save my business. Yes once the claim is settled I be moving all my policies.

I plan on writing a book called ‘To Big To Fail.’ Chronicling the fall of the mighty State Farm After Ed left everything unraveled. Poor business decisions. Incompetent leadership. It was a good run

I spent 36 years in Claims, Underwriting, and Agency.
In 2014, I attended ADP (Agency Development Program). It was at my own cost and required travel and 6 months of extra work. It was supposed to help you realize your full potential. It was actually the final piece of the puzzle telling me that this was not what I wanted, and that I would never do it again.
Took me ten more years to retire.....after I determined to save save save and get out when I could.

I have people ask me about State Farm and see that they are hiring. My kids need a job etc... I die laughing and tell them I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. This is not even a legitimate business anymore, just a mixture of incompetent 2040 workforce, dishonest and completely immoral Execs and a business model straight out of Jack Welch and Mckinsey consulting handbook. Pure thrash company! Be sure to tell everyone you know.

Retired after almost 35 years. Would never ever work for State Farm again and probably wouldn’t if I had to do it all over again. Told my master degreed children to stay away from State Farm. There was a day, everyone’s kids came to State Farm because it was, was a great place to work. Alas, nothing lasts forever.
