Before you move to a new assignment in Midland remember that if the company fired you there they will not pay to love you to Houston. Nothing better than being fired in the middle of a downturn in west Texas! Your home value will plummet the same time you and everyone is fired. Do not do it bruh! Stay away from Midland at all costs.

Never accept a new assignment in a new location unless you want to live there permanently.
Just asked the legacy Sarnia Lubes Organization who were Canadian Citizens who relocated to Baton Rouge, LA on a Temporary Domestic Assignment (TDA). After three years, the Canadians were supposed to be relocated back to Sarnia after their TDA ended. The Sarnia Canadians were told by Sarnia management that there was no job for them in Sarnia. They had to become American Citizens and stay in Baton Rouge until retirement.
Done many International relocations and a few Domestic relocations. Historically, the Domestic relo policy has always svcked compared to competitors while the International relo policy was always excellent until post Covid, now in decline.
Don't go anywhere domestic you wouldn't want live otherwise.
Request a Temporary Domestic Assignment in Midland. You keep your house in Houston and the company pays for an apartment in Midland/Odessa while you are on assignment. If you are PIP'd or NSI'd you still have your home to move back to in Houston.
And the defender of the faith answered “Troll”. Lol.
@a9 Houston won’t be much better. Best to not be in this industry bit agree Midland has to be the worst place to be when a downturn hits. It is an oil town so when the music stops it is deadly silent there.
Winter is coming as they say. Best to not be in Midland when it hits.
This is accurate. The company will not love you back to Houston
@a1 Troll really? Some of us were in Midland during COVID and saw what happened to people who were fired in Midland. Not a great place to be fired during a downturn. Oh and they cut the cost of living allowance too so you were then making less money vs having stayed in Houston.
