Thread regarding Ford layoffs

4am: found parking spot, badged in, claimed a desk.

Taking a nap in the car for a couple hours.

Pleased to report I’ve secured premium overnight lodging at Rotunda Lot B (concierge service = one raccoon). Wake-up call scheduled for 4 a.m. with complimentary Rouge River cold plunge. Will be checked in at my desk by 5 to showcase unparalleled synergy, resilience, and early-bird initiative. Please update my performance review accordingly, su-kers.

@v4

Left work at 2pm every day this week.
I get paid for 8 hrs a day.
I’m in the office 8 hours a day.

The day is not done until 6pm regardless of start time.

Start at 5:30 AM
your day is done at 2pm
Easy to park and easy to find A desk.

Now that it’s getting dark out earlier, getting home early means more daylight for me.

That’s what I’m doing.

Didn’t ask permission but in the future I may need to ask for forgiveness

Yes. For the work areas that there is no need for comp, comp does not exist.

Thanks - I will be sure to leave for home early every day this winter. Not like I'm doing much work anyway.

@d6 what is comp, the "compensation time" that doesn't actually exist?

Ford Land said only 80-85% would have desks. What did the other 20% do today?

Challenge the GLT to find a desk/chair everyday. Ha!

I am as surprised as anyone and would have lost a bet, but I arrived bright and early at 9 am and immediately found a two monitor desk to sit at. In a windowless dystopia, but still, available.

Just talked to Violet at the Free Press and they are working on an investigative report about return to office of the big 3 and the work conditions. Send your experiences her way.

@ay

True. No chance this situation would happen if an exec was inconvenienced.

Peons, who cares about them?

The senior executives have special luxury accommodations in a few buildings to which they travel. They don't need to worry about finding desks or having their needs met. Just the peasants do.

@OP

I think you are missing on a capitalization opportunity. Get in there around 4 and claim all the desks. Set up in the lobby and raffle them off.

Good work! Early in...early out! Let the circus games begin.
Welcome back all! Thanks for starting the week with a laugh. Gonna be fun to see the executives scrambling for desks as well.
