Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Why is claims such a s%#{ show?

This is my third carrier in 10 years and by far the most clueless organization I’ve ever been part of. Too many of the tenured managers don’t care anymore and that seems to be problem 1. Best of luck to those who remain. 2 years has been enough for me.

@a4 sp-t on with 29 years with SF ny new role is a mechanic
I go around fixing all the fu-k ups in operation everyday. Routine processes getting messed up by inexperienced id--ts that don’t even know how to read an endorsement
I don’t know where they find these people

@OP senior leadership got rid of the most experienced and talented claims folks about 6-7 years ago in the last transition
They never ever rebounded from that and they all know it and even acknowledged their mistakes.

They have replaced them with entry level people that burn out faster than they can be trained and it’s a revolving door. That’s their new business model get the next warm body and pay them 60k for a job that everyone else pays 90k to do and if they wash out in 3 months who cares there is another id--t that will replace them

@a4 I am a TM in claims and you hit the nail on the head. I am completely checked out and barely hanging on just to see what sh-t comes down the pike in the 4th quarter and for 2026 before I pull the rip cord and bail out.

Easy, SF is run by an accountant and two former SF Agents. Everything is run out of the corn fields of Bloomington and they have no clue about anything. It's the consultant class that runs SF and everything they know about claims comes from some business article or lean/agile class they took in college or book they read. MT systematically destroyed the best claims organization in the industry, well known. The so called "old timers" are checked out because for the last almost 15 years we have to constantly fix all the problems and clean up their mess. They try to move away from us but they always come back to us time and time again. For the last two years they thought they were going to hire outside of SF for leadership and quickly found out those people told them their baby was ugly and didn't have an ounce of loyalty or put up with their sh-t. Execs literally see claims employees as a burden, so I would recommend leaving ASAP, it does not get better and there is not a happy ending to this story.
