Because they have never done the "work" in the industry in which they oversee. They do not relate to those in the industry and lack empathy and understanding to those actually doing the work. It used to be, those in the field, performing were brought up to leadership positions to avoid this type of poor leadership. That is no longer the case, hence MW and ELT company.
