Not the OP on this one but want this to be highlighted for management:
I just saw something that caused me to pause and think about our current situation at CVX.
Some of you may have heard of Judge Frank Caprio, a very special human being, in my opinion, who brought a lot of kindness to the courtroom and understood when to give someone a break. He passed away today from pancreatic cancer.
His son asked for people to spread a little kindness in the Judge’s honor and in keeping with the legacy his father left. That really gave me pause. THIS is the legacy of a great man, admired by thousands of people across the globe. He managed to do his job well, while still conducting himself as a decent and kind human being. How different from the tone that MW and the ELT are employing lately.
I realize that the longer I stay in this toxic environment, the greater the likelihood that it will rub off on my own behavior, my very soul. That feels like too big a price to pay to simply stay employed.
I feel like I have a lot of thinking to do between now and Monday. Do I actually want to stay in this place? I wish all my Wave 2 colleagues good luck in making your own decisions.
