Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

How is digital supporting Access platform?

I’m considering leaving a competitor bank for JPMC to work as product manager supporting Access platform in commercial banking. What are the culture and teams like? I support a digital commercial platform as a product owner currently at a competitor bank.

@b8 "Europe people don't have a strong work ethic or don't give a damm"
Interesting ... after 27 years at JPMC I found the folks who spent their time:

  • Not sharing information (they thought it gave them job security)
  • Did the minimum hours they could get away with
  • If they didn't understand something would allow a project to fail before admitting as much
  • ... the list goes on
    were mostly US based.

Mix bag. Some annoying, some great people who don't get upset because of their upbringing regardless of them being yelled at. Some arrogant. Some are in APAC, some in Europe, LATAM, Americas. It mostly depends on locality of team of where you will work.

Europe people don't have a strong work ethic or don't give a damm. APAC are protectionist where they won't give you details to projects or procedures so they can't be laid off and feel important. LATAM people mostly ARG just want to go through their daily tasks and go home, but with LATAM culture being outgoing if not bothered. In the US hierarchy and tenure is to be respected. A new grad refusing to check code because it is bad or wants to change status and improve processes will be let go since upper management will feel threatened. Also, a SRE telling a SWE what libraries are best for coding since the SRE has more tenure than the SWE. WTF! Mostly in NYC, Tampa, Chicago, not much in Plano, but small. NYC just busy and get out of my way attitude but you must make time for them to talk to you. In Tampa easy going, but become aggressive and they will respond with full force of their power and HR to get you out of there if you become aggressive like blamming them for issues. Like traffic Thursdays in youtube respectful, but stern police officers. In Chicago mostly tell them like it is and not have them read a doc or chase ten people to get an answer, but when they do it it comes hypocrisy at its finest.

I most work within CIB, but have heard about them. It will mostly be of two things the culture of your manager and locality of where you will be seated.
