88% of our employees said Mattel is a a great place to work, compared to 57% of employees at a typical U.S. based company.

Guess this site is trolled by the 12%.

there's some truth to that. the longer you are at Mattel the more you realize the ugly truth about the company. and then you fall into that 12%. So 88% will probably be a high percentage of those folks that have been here for 5 years or less and still have that d-mb look on their faces.

Better survey results when good percentage of the people haven’t been with the company very long. What is the average tenure of current workforce? They like employees to be agreeable so they thin the heard and keep the cheerleaders!

It's barely tolerable even then.
Frankly when you're let go it can be partially a relief. Yes it's tough especially if you've been here for so long and you've become so dependent on it that you're no longer competitive on the outside world. But it's like every other corporate gig. Don't expect the company to care that much about you when you're at the lower rungs. Down there you're a number. They may say they care in all their employee rah rah team building BS but nah man. You'll be the first to go. But they want you to feel like they care up until they push you out that door exactly. Just facts.

What else can I say, the people are fake, the managers are all scared, the VPs are spin doctors that are only interested in their bonuses, HR just cares about protecting the company so be careful what you complain about, no one cares if you work hard, your boss will take credit for your work, marketing is beyond stupid, honestly I don't know where they breed them and the toys are just bad ideas recycled over and over while the minions clap and pretend it's the best invention since sliced bread. Mattel in a nutshell.

@OP how about get a fu--ing clue? Lol. Mattel pays marketing agencies to complete the Great Places to Work surveys and then pings employees to vote. The survey results are so fake. They don't even disclose the advertising tie-in as part of the pay-to-win survey scam.
Mmeanwhile, the designs are cr-p with no new innovation just recycling the same entire teams every season. Supply chain disaster no leadership. You can only throw people at the problem for so long especially as the company starts cutting costs and you run out of people. IT is a cluster circa 2017. The IT meltdown started after the brainiac leadership got rid of the smartest guy in the building, causing the second and third the smartest people to rage quit.
