Massive layoffs in Card

Cap 1 let go of a ton of Card workers today. Can’t say I'm surprised especially with this discover merger. But I am surprised how insensitive they were about the entire thing.

Why surprised ? They are a global company it’s not about the people who make the company ! They will find out what happens when you treat people poorly

@OP Not sure what you consider Massive....but they closed the home loans DEPT. this was coming and everyone knew it would close its not something Cap One wants to continue. Most people were offered another position in the company though some did not and were given severance. It happens in a merger the closing of dept. and moving people around when they dont need 2 dept to do that same thing. As for the all mighty PIPS the only ones complaining are the ones below standard in their metrics. Do your job, make your metrics a Priority and you wont have as much to worry about. Bottom Line you do not own the Position but you do own your Career so if you feel the change is not good for you move on before you are PIPed out.

C1 is going to crumble just like Cisco for hiring and reusing I mean trusting outside “bold visionaries” who most folks know to not dare contradict…even though that’s the “Amazon” way..C1 is like AWS except you cannot speak up but you are subject to extreme prejudice during performance management. Also why does it take until August for MidYear to commence?

Did they announce as layoffs. Which they rarely do. Or just PIP'em? Sounds like they got PIP'd out to satisfy the quota.

How many this time? This never stops. One of the best places to work!

I feel for those who are losing their jobs. Not that it helps, but there are so many of us who have gone through this and gone on to find a more stable, less toxic environment.
