Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC will monitor you

Its ok for the main man to run his sports businesses on the side, but his now trying to watch what you do.

What a hypocrite, he should look in the mirror, and resign from his other interest whilst his working at DXC, and taking millions of $$$$$$$$$$.

@dk if your smart? Did you mean if you're smart? Sorry, couldn't resist. PS you did it twice in one post. Maybe the spy software can include a grammar checker too.

Maybe it will route out managers who do nothing but send emails, chasing things which anywhere else would just get done because the staff who do it get paid properly.

Maybe it will find we fill in endless spreadsheets in various formats that nobody reads. And the job only gets done when a manager chases it.

Maybe it will find the people who do nothing but say we're all very busy. But have no clue what is actually going on.

And maybe it will expose the senior execs who expect $120M a year, but spend most of their time down the golf course.

Used my mouse mover app for the last 10 years at dxc in the UK. Started up with windows, and shut down the pc on a schedule at the end of my shift. Thank the lord for that app, as I was able to do absolutely f*ck all for those 10 years.
The sooner this company is taken over the better.

@OP+1k1kpmag7 op take your point Raul shouldn't be running his other businesses whilst head of DXC.

He wouldn't have enough time or focus to fix the ailing DXC which needs to be done full time. Whose is going to monitor Rauls calls, time, and work?

They’re certainly monitoring this site as loads of previous posts (especially UK related) have miraculously disappeared. Nice work Captain Derek!!

@e0 care to share why it was being deployed, how it is used, what expectations DXC has from the results it gives?

You all are very naive if you don’t realize DXC and its predecessors have had “monitoring “ software on PCs for more than a decade. I was involved in deploying various tools for this in one of the legacy companies back in 2008. For some roles we had legal obligations to have records of employee/user actions. They also have tools to monitor browsing habits. If you are using a company PC, you are monitored for multiple activities and with multiple tools. AI in tool has made it even easier to correlate activities.

I suspect DXC have some employees in certain areas who they don’t know what they do. That or there is some fraud involved. Think musk and federal government. I used to speak to DXC India and thought at times multiple people were pretending to be one employee,

if your smart , you would use another compute device to do stuff other than work. He-l you could ssh to a unix machine at home or RDP so you don’t need to leave your desk. Or just use a completely different device.

How stupid some people are , your at work do work !

I’m in the UK (using my own laptop to post here, not a DXC one of course) and have done a search on the legality of monitoring staff via keystrokes, time logging etc. Whilst it’s not illegal it must adhere to the latest GDPR legislation which includes telling employees what is being collected, for what reason, and for how long it will be collated. Not adhering to this could result in claims for constructive dismissal amongst other things.
What is clear from the lawyers websites I’ve looked is that a full impact assessment must be done and employees must be clearly informed of what is happening, anything less could fall foul of the law.
It’s probably different in the US but in Europe there are probably stricter guidelines for employers to follow.
It sounds like Raul or HR hasn’t thought this fully through at the moment.
Do your own searches to verify what happens in your countries.

Monitoring changes behaviour — but when done badly, it damages trust.
In this kind of role, how, where, and when I work shouldn't matter. What should matter is: Did I deliver the task? Was it to the right quality? Did it meet the customer's expectations? If the only thing being measured is the number of calls taken, emails sent, and whether I'm on Teams at set times — then that's all anyone will focus on.

There’s no space left to pause and ask “Could this be done better?”
There’s no value placed on flexibility — no recognition for those of us who start early or stay late to keep things running. But the moment someone is two minutes late? We’re under a microscope.

With this shift, you've burned through the last reserves of goodwill from staff.
So, if we're now being managed minute-by-minute, then manage away.
Tell me exactly what you need from me this hour. I'm here. And I'll be logging off at 5pm sharp — because that’s the environment you've chosen.

Rawul is on $20+ million and also running his side hustle sports franchise, and his worried about underpaid folks on $40000 and less doing a job, sad times DXC totally down the drain.

Knee je-k reaction, The results and share price crash has panicked him.
