Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Am I making a huge mistake leaving this place for Wells Fargo?

They seem to have much of the same problems we do, but I was offered a significant pay bump and it was hard to say no. I'm still unsure. I feel like I'm jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

The best part of WF was the potential mobility. I was able to jump around - 5 positions in 8 years and doubling my salary in that time.

Is time off important to you? Wells has the worst PTO policy in the industry, check into it.

For the first three years, regardless of your level, you get 18 days for vacation AND sick time. So, people go into the office sick and get everyone else sick.

Culture won't be any better, but you will learn more and having experience with a Top 4 bank will make you more marketable when you look for your next job.

This has to be a troll post. Let me get this straight you’re being offered more money to deal with the same kind of problems at another company, and you're hesitating? Take the money. That’s a no-brainer.

From what I understand, most companies aren’t even hiring right now, so landing a role at a competitor is incredibly lucky. Don’t overthink it.

Ditto.

The guy that president over and directed U.S. Bank during its greatest decade, Richard Davis, is an independent board member at the stagecoach bank and will continue to direct the company through the regulatory headaches which have affected Wells (as well as the other three big banks) over the last decade.

His absence from the C suite at USB has been catastrophic.

@OP I assure you, you are not making a mistake. Take the job at Wells Fargo. I've worked for Wells and USB, and WF is a much stronger bank. In my experience, Wells has a stronger infrastructure for employees and stronger management all around. I was misled into believing that USB would be a strategic career move after working at Wells. Nope, huge mistake on my part.

Congratulations on your new role at Wells!
Run, do not walk from USB!
