Who's really in charge at Elavon? Jamie Walker is a lame duck CEO with no accountability over his directs. Nicole Tackett doesn't know the basics of payments processing. Pari Sawant has promised the world to everyone and will spectacularly fail in his delivery of EPG. Paul Sari lost a 33yr customer - Regions Bank. When will Mark Rubkel remove Jamie Walker and his useless directs? The passionate employees and loyal customers of Elavon appeal to Mark Runkel and Gunjan Kedia for relief from baggage that is between the employees and the senior management. Remove Jamie, Nicole, Pari, and Paul NOW! Invest in our gateway technology.

@16j only 1 brief mention that I heard - GK used her same line as last time that they are only 7% of total USB revenue to head off too much focus
How do y'all think the Q3 Earnings call will go for Elavon?
Thanks! I was wondering
@xe That’s exactly what Runkel needs to address. His leadership team has become the laughingstock of the payments industry, with their dysfunction widely known across multiple organizations. Just look at the talent that’s walked out the door over the past three years, three highly respected leaders left specifically because of J. Walker. JM, PF, and BM all jumped ship due to the chaos and poor leadership under Walker’s direction.
@tx Dang! With this much disapproval of Jordan Owens, Nicole Tackett and other directs of Jamie, how are they not under scrutiny? I guess goes back to the original post - What is going on at Elavon?!
That Small Business line continues to fail the company on all metrics, evidencing a complete lack of familiarity, understanding and awareness within the payments space, while people are laid off and jobs are sent overseas, the most recent pricing initiative included rate locks and an early termination fee, which is laughable in the Small Business arena as most competitors abandoned that fee years ago, the regulators have punished competitors for such a fee, PNC resolved a class action, Merrick is a defendant in an early termination fee class action and this is emblematic of how this critical business line is operated. Leadership matters and real world experience is required. Elavon is not growing, irrelevant and non competitive in the merchant space, the why is quite easy to see.
@s9 I’ll piggyback off this…
The truth is, her accent does more heavy lifting than her actual leadership. There’s this strange fascination Americans have with a British accent, it creates a false sense of intelligence or authority that simply isn’t backed by results. People are so taken with how she sounds, they ignore how poorly she performs. If you judged her strictly on merit, she wouldn’t even be in the conversation.
Not to mention, she didn’t land this role based on qualifications or a proven track record, she got it through her husband’s connection to Pam Joseph. It’s nepotism, plain and simple. Strip away the accent and the backdoor relationship, and what’s left is a failed business line, weak leadership, and a team that’s been in steady decline since she took over.
@kd I don’t understand how her team continues to be seen as the “darlings” of Elavon. Her business line is failing. The leadership she put in place is unqualified and consistently makes poor decisions. J. Flaherty is a prime example… constantly changing direction, creating chaos, and delivering no real results. There’s zero accountability, and the team lacks the competence needed to succeed. Since she arrived, she’s dismantled what was once a high-performing group. The only reason she gets a pass is because people are distracted by her accent. Strip that away, and you’re left with a leader who’s failed to execute at every level.
@OP you forgot to mention Jordan Owen who leads the Merchant Business Banking group who works with Branch, SBS, and BBRM's. She's a cancer that needs to be added to this list.
Jay dub was a bad ceo (or whatever his title was) of Elavon from the start
He’s been an even worse leader now that he’s just a link between the bank and Elavon
U ever see the guy on a call? Lmao he has no clue what’s going on
I won’t lie he had a glow up over the years tho but been downhill recently
When you don't know the business, you cannot grow the business and the Elavon business line has been plagued with leadership that does not know the payments acquiring business at all. The recent relationship losses are staggering, but the competitive landscape that is payments acquiring is no place for on the job training, inexperienced incompetency or rolling out losing propositions like BNPL, Paze, name changes, logo changes and gateway solutions that don't do what the gateways did a decade ago.
Time to clear the deck on the sinking ship, the business line needs all new senior leadership or it needs to be sold in its entirety.
Elavon is a fully owned subsidiary of U.S. Bank. It's a payment processing company and apparently just as poorly run as the main arm of the bank. You can simply type it Elavon on the intranet to learn more about the company.
I’ve been working at this bank for over a year and I still don’t know what the fu-k even is or what it does
