Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

AI

Curious if anyone knows how far along AI implementation is here? Seems like this would be a good time to hit the gas on this to reduce costs.

@OP AI is coming, no doubt. Idle they could replace everyone now, they would. The question was simply where is Centene at in that process. No one likes to see people lose their jobs. But it’s a business and business things are gonna happen. So how long do we have? Best estimate.

You are overestimating the capability of the IT team to implement AI. IT is run by a bunch of discards from Humana who are centuries behind in modern tech.

AI is taking jobs. Fact. They took some already this month with more planned in the coming months. And now layoffs coming again.

Why don't you hit the gas and save costs by leaving, a--hole?

@dh I think you underestimate upper management's capacity to push for the automation of things that shouldn't be automated in the name of "reducing costs." I believe other insurers have started piloting automated clinical reviews, so it really isn't that far fetched.

No confidence in our ability to really use AI. Maybe it can write some basic code, or further automate claims decisions.

IMO, the “oMg AI is gonna take our jerbs!” thing is overblown.

@dd That's exactly what he meant. AI implementation will definitely cause layoffs

Reduce costs? You understand that means laying people off, right?
