@115 It is true, Synchrony Bank is responsible for compensating Belk for each new Belk charge account that is opened. This is likely why there is a strong emphasis on encouraging associates to promote the credit card. Store managers and upper management are fully aware of this incentive structure.

If you notice, credit has gone down companywide---most associates are purposefully not opening as many credits as the once did. And who can blame them?
Yes it is true but that 10,000 a credit goes to pay the loan we took from KKR. That was their security for the loan and that is why credits is pushed so heavily.
@OP I don’t really know but I’ve heard that for a while now and it would explain the ridiculously high salaries of some.
