Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Exhausted and weary

Heading into the 4th of July weekend I can’t even fully focus on the festivities.

So stressed, overworked, worried, and anxious about the future at work in general.

Seems like a lot of us are doing the job of 3 other people and expected to just take on more and more work, or else risk being let go, out on a PIP, or have your job offshored.

Management is cordial, but absent. Colleagues are at their limits or simply doing bare minimum work.

Feels like departments are on the hunt to point out how the real issue is x department and not theirs.

This isn’t how it always was. What’s changing? I’m so exhausted.

Wish I had something better to bring to the table/ forum, but I’m just in a bad moment here at Cigna

I’m taking the VRP. It’s the best option for getting out! I’m looking forward to focusing on myself. Don’t be mad at those of us taking the VRP. We will all retire at some point. Why not now…

I was JE in May and the more I read on this site about what’s going on there, the better I feel. I totally understand how you feel. It’s taken me a couple of months to decompress from that corporate mindset but I am so much happier not to be dealing with it.

"Expected to just take on more and more work, or else risk being let go, out on a PIP, or have your job offshored" Your job may be offshored even if you are taking on more work. I have decided NOT to accept more work, I will NOT work more than 12 hours/week (30%) overtime, as there is more risk of PIP from being behind in my existing projects.

You’ll get more when about 3500 employees sign their VRP
