Thread regarding United Healthcare layoffs

R TO who heard that

Can anyone fill in or comment on this. Lots of us work from home not near an office when will we be told about this? I’m sure if I’m reading the threads right another layoff is in the works please fill us in. Some of us did not get to go to the meeting.

Wouldn’t rule it out with Hemsley in charge. Don’t kid yourself that your team is too far from an office. He’s more than happy to offshore your work. He’s from the old school.
He can’t afford to lose the people, but still wouldn’t rule it out. Not with the way things have been going with the stock price.

Of the 9 people on my team only 1 person lives with in 50 miles of a satellite office and no one on the team has ever been an in office worker so I cant see this happening.

I'll wait for them to build or lease a new office. There aren't any where I live. And I'm have worked from home since Helmsley was CEO first time.

Hemsley is way old school culture- and we have many buildings just sitting around empty that we are paying for. My health plan leadership said if you have committed to going into an office x number of days a week then make sure you are getting those swipes in. Obviously they can’t make everyone RTO but will try where it makes sense. Elevance has mandatory RTO starting this July 3 days a week.

how can you "return" to an office if you never had an office lol.
Or live somewhere like me where there isnt one in 150 miles.

Wow and normally there’s a replay sent out that we can watch the meeting and stuff. Funny how it’s not been sent out probably cause they realize there’s stuff that’s not been publicly talked about that was talked about in this meeting so I agree they have defended the work from home promoted it and now they’re trying to change it got a lot to be thinking about.

RTO - considering they just downsized and moved the office I worked out of substantially, it'll be interesting to see if a RTO is warranted. The new space in no way can accommodate a RTO from the staff that was at the prior buildings.

During the All Employee Meeting yesterday, someone asked Tim Noel if dress code would be changing (he made some lame joke in response to it) and if there would be a RTO mandate.

He skirted around the RTO question and said “not at this time” but that we need more collaboration. This is alarming because they have always denied and defended our WFH stance prior.
