Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

I really miss this job.

I think about my career here the way those jocks and cheerleaders talk about highschool being the best years of my life.

When I first came here everything was awesome, Windstream really was the best job I ever had.

Slowly I changed as well as everyone else. Covid was a real opportunity for me. Work from home was great.

You want to know what I miss the most? All the j3rking off. Ah, those were the days.

Now I'm at a new job where I have to go in everyday.

Count your blessings people, you don't know how good you have it here

@OP I miss the olds days too. When I was laid off, I miss my people and my customers. But I am now learning a whole new side of networking and telecom. I was in a rut at Win. Never going to move up. Sad

Yes, and listening to Omar’s broken English meetings going on and on about nothing. I miss the great sleep I used to get listening to that doof.

Trail Blazer my A - There is a lawyer that provides commentary on a news network that did not even bother to turn down the cam during a staff meeting (pun intended) - now that's trail blazing. Can you name the network and contributor?

Wow, truly inspiring. A real LinkedIn Hall of Fame post right here.

You know, most people reflect on past jobs and miss the team camaraderie, the growth opportunities, maybe even the coffee. But no—you’ve taken nostalgia to new heights by pining for the golden age of corporate self-pleasure. A trailblazer.

And yes, COVID: the global crisis that devastated economies and lives—but also, finally gave some folks the "me time" they so deeply deserved. Glad to hear you seized the moment. Really made that pandemic work for you.

Now you’re back in the office, wearing real pants, with no private browser tabs? Brutal. Thoughts and prayers.

But seriously, folks—take note. Remote work wasn’t just about flexibility or family time. It was about... self-discovery. Deep, deeply personal discovery.

Godspeed, king. You walked so the rest of us could, uh, keep our webcams off.

yea, they count a repeat as anytime a customer calls in to report a problem within a certain time frame, even if what they are saying is wrong is NOT what you worked on. You could of replaced 1 phone jack because their cat peed on it and all was good when you left. Than they call back 6 days later saying they have slow speeds on internet. Yep, that is a repeat on you, even though it has NOTHING to do with the jack you replaced 6 days ago. These "Metrics" are designed to make you look bad on purpose.

Yeah, I miss the way it used to be about quality before the accountants took over. It's all metrics now. How many tickets, how long, how many repeats. It's about the shareholders, not the customers.
