Been at F5 long enough to see the good years, when the pay was strong, the benefits generous, and the culture something you actually wanted to be part of. It’s disheartening to see how far things have slipped. These days, it feels like most folks are just looking for the exit. Truth be told, I probably would be too, if I weren’t this close to retirement

@1dht Huh? 2 years of pay vs severance?
@1ck9 Better to be RIFed if you are considering retirement. You get a package this way.
@1d5h Why do you say that? There have been plenty of SVP, VP and Director layoffs, including Architects. In these categories quite a few retirements as well.
@1d5h VPs, Senior Directors, Directors, Senior Managers are part of the cult. They are immune from doing the right thing....
@1ck9 I was also planning on retiring 3 to 4 years down the road from F5. In my case, both the VP and Director asked about my retirement plans which is not allowed. It's a shame that "doing the right thing" doesn't apply to directors, VPs, etc.
@OP I was planning to retire in just a couple of years. Was RIFd instead. Guess the execs needed to fatten their bonuses more
@OP Proud of what? Delivering technology to psychopaths that enjoy ending dreams of 200 young girls?
Great point and well said. Remember Q2FY24 when at the end during the QA fearless leader stated we categorically support a nation engaged in the starvation of people.
“ I was disgusted with what was going on”
Rightfully so! Hard not to be disgusted knowing with whom they make deals. Hard not to be disgusted knowing they all have red hands and faces and pump more red money. Hear screaming little humans. Look in the mirror. Be disgusted. Rightfully so!
It's been 2 years since I was RIFd. For the Iongest time I thought I was proud to work at F5. I now realize that I had convinced myself I was proud when in reality I was disgusted with what was going on. I was in a cult. No tolerance for differences of opinion no respect for those doing the work and widespread misrepresentation of product quality.
I fault myself for being a part of the lie.
