Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Will you reply to MB on LinkedIn post?

It's disappointing to see a former OT employee criticizing the CEO on LinkedIn, suggesting that the positive Q3 earnings report is primarily the result of recent mass layoffs

My guess is they don’t have a post removal process

I love that my posts get removed. Thelayoff.com is woke.
If I didn't know any better, I'd think that OT is pressuring them to remove posts that call Mark B and the ELT out.

Let see how long this stays up.

insider alert: @OP+1jt4h3ejf. Just so you know @OP+1jt4h3ejf a bucket of dead rats would make a better CEO & CTO. Same for the Mindless talking heads of the ELT

Instead of reacting emotionally to recent statements, it’s worth stepping back to consider what’s actually happening. Layoffs at OpenText are nothing new-they happen in cycles. So why has a recent comment, made publicly and so directly, attracted attention this time? Either something about the situation has changed, or people’s willingness to accept employees being treated as mere numbers has reached a breaking point.

For many, work is far more meaningful than the company seems to acknowledge. Some employees have spent decades solving problems, honing their skills, and building strong teams and relationships. Yet, to the company, these contributions appear easily replaceable. This highlights how OpenText values professionals: not for their experience or dedication, but as interchangeable parts in a business strategy.

If Sears can survive so can OpenText. Just as irrelevant as ever.

What are you all still fantasizing about? This round of layoffs is fatal, and there’s no saving the company now. It’s reached its Roche limit, and collapse is imminent. I know this is hard for many to accept, but it’s time to grow up and face reality. The world outside is full of possibilities.

Nobody gets angrier or more defensive than a narcissist being accused of something that they actually did.

I too was disappointed with the response only being disagreement via LinkedIn. There are more direct methods of disagreeing with corrupt CEOs.

I can't believe the poster is disappointed to see a former OT employee criticizing the CEO on LinkedIn openly. All the layoff process was done secretly, in batches to reduce legal notifications and public scrutiny.
What did you expect ?
OT did not handle the numerous layoffs correctly and respectfully. You live in an Elon fantasy world, if you expect your mistreated ex-employees to treat you with respect.
Learn from HP who does not burn bridges with its ex-employees and even have HP-Alumni.
You reap what you sow. Respect gets respect. Disrespect gets you a dose of reality.

The former OT employee your talking about was removed because of a senior director had an arguement with him. Think its fair? OT has anti retaliation policy but does not enforce it on the higher ups

This person deserves a standing ovation for having the moral courage to speak out clearly and without fear of repercussions.
Secondly, this post reinforces what was stated in a previous one: OpenText has become a totalitarian surveillance state where every employee acts as an informer, reporting their colleagues to management.
Why do you fear the other side of the story? Why do you seek to block the flow of free debate and prevent the public and potential investors from gaining insight into a reality they may not be aware of?
Last but not least, freedom of expression exists to protect the voices of those we may disagree with or even dislike. Comments posted on LinkedIn should be safeguarded to the fullest legal extent.

I’m glad someone had the b-lls to say it publicly. It’s true. Mark should be called out. He doesn’t get a free pass. Even if results seemed good it was on the backs of better people.

OT recently laid off 1,600 employees a few days ago and 1,300 last year. They mentioned backfilling those roles but did not follow through and will likely do the same this time. Customers should consider running away from this sinking ship—it’s only a matter of time before the next round of layoffs begins.
I appreciate the courage of the employees stating truth on Linked in as Mark B is lying to the tooth.
Current U.S. employees should start looking for new opportunities actively, as they will likely be targeted again in the next round.
