Thread regarding Illumina Inc. layoffs

How was the Jacob posted deleted?

Last night an insider posted that the board is voting 5/7 for Jacob to resign by Q3. With a Thermo exec transitioning to the role in June. Where did the post go? Is Illumina able to remove these posts? I don't see options to delete them.

@yq+1js205fyx, the activist investor joining the board[1][2], the “deleted insider:” post, this thread @OP+1js205fyx, and the ”triangle dilemma” LinkedIn post mentioned by @aa+1js205fyx.[3] ”Things That Make You Go Hmmmm”. …or, you can ask your supervisor if the rumor is true…

Seems incredibly unlikely that he’d leave this quickly. The BOD would lose even more credibility by firing him this fast. They committed to give him reasonable time to turn the company around, which everyone has always known will take several years. You can’t spend nearly a decade draining the innovation engine and organizational energy from things like Grail and then expect to fix it in a year p. And yes, ILMN stock has been way down, but so have many companies in the sector, and a lot of them have done layoffs too. This isn’t exclusively an ILMN problem. It’s a tough market these days.

Does anyone have confirmation the post was true?

Guys a shitpost getting popular only means it was controversial, or eye-catching. Doesn't mean jackrabbitshit about credibility.

@m0+1js205fyx, the ”proprietary information” post reached ”Hot Topic Status” (2073 Views/12 Replies), in just under seven hours. The thread access was taken down 26 minutes after the 12th reply. You may be right. Perhaps a “troll” as @bf+1js205fyx mentioned.

On a side note, and a friendly reminder, recall from your HTTP training, the underlying Transport/Network protocol is TCP/IP. Scroll down to the page footer and click the TheLayoff.com Privacy Policy. In section 1.1 HTTP Request Data, you will see the following:

”1.1 HTTP Request Data”
”As with most other websites, we collect and use some of the data your browser automatically submits to the server when browsing the website. This data is typically stored in server log files. The HTTP request data we may record include your IP (internet protocol) address.”[1]

Oh, look! Some anonymous person on the internet posted a proprietary information that we cannot verify. It must be a 100% trustworthy post!

@bf+1js205fyx, in my opinion, it does NOT appear to be a troll. If you do an advanced Google search for the last 48 hours, with your “insider info” filter, the only thread that appears is this thread, @OP+1js205fyx. If you change the advanced search with one of the ”keywords” used by @OP+1js205fyx, you will find the deleted ”insider:” post.

Pretty sure someone tried to troll and got busted. I check out the latest posts section every now and then, and last night I noticed several threads on other forums also starting with “insider info.” All gone now.

Re LinkedIn, search Alex Di-kinson’s latest post with ILMN’s triangle dilemma. The Jacob Leaving reference is buried in the comments under Alex’s post.

Can you please share the LinkedIn post?

While anonymous, posts are minimally audited. “Insider” could have triggered a flag.

So who removes posts here?

My guess is that post was bullsh-t. The further damage it would cause to ILMN from reduced confidence among investors and analysts by ousting another CEO this quickly would be devastating to the company’s valuation. Not gonna happen this fast. He’ll get at least 3 years.
