Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Outer L for working average of 42 hour weeks

Mgr (DV) warned me i had the lowest hours in my group and could expect outer L review if i dont get to 46 billable hours. As if this is my fault when i am being shipped from program to program with no chance to learn. Mgr hardly ever bothers to even talk to me this year. Trying to control my emotions.

Got the same message from my manager except I am averaging over 45. “It is a game and the winners get rewarded”. .. aka .. did you hear the one about outrunning the bear? That’s a bear behind you.
Mandatory hours must be worked before taking any vacation. Here is the spreadsheet do you agree and commit? Customer demand has nothing to do with this.
PS — back to five days in office starting January.

You all know as well as I do the 9 block BINGO game is all arbitrary. Your manager is told how many good, mediocre, and bad reviews are required for the year. If you kiss said managers a** you get a good score, and if you don’t good luck.

What a stupid thing to say in November. If this was an issue, which is even more ridiculous, it belonged in mid year review.

My apologies because I hesitate to say what’s next, and I hope I am wrong…

I would think that 9 block is done or we’ll in progress by now. Probably looking for an excuse to meet his 10% “target” not “quota”.

This is @OP.
After venting, I spell checked my resume and sent it out to a couple of contracting job positions. I got hits back within hours and have interviews next week. The recruiters are hungry it seems. Haven’t tried contracting before but I am going to try a second job for a few months and then look at options over Christmas. With any luck I will turn in my notice over the break. Less money probably and possible short term relocation .. but I am fine with seeing new places. Lot of work in Texas.
Eventually got over being angry at my mgr. really have no need to worry about someone that doesn’t bother to help me find work.

When you get switched from one revcog program to another you can only work tasks assigned. No knowledge no tasks. Meanwhile the hero’s from the sourcing site are working 90hr weeks to actually get the job done. I NEVER give loaned labor authorization for any overtime. zip nada none. I lead software teams mostly on aero def projects.

Taking you at your word that your manager actually said that- he/she's an id--t and would be PIP'd themselves for doing so- or worse.

As for your comment about not your fault due to chance to learn- that makes no sense. If you are context switching that much- it takes MORE effort to get the job done, not less. I'm not saying it's good to be shipped around (bad management)- but that has nothing to do with how many hours you work.

Ask him in writing to send you an email that 46 hours is the required minimum to stay off a PIP. He won’t because HR will not allow it. Time to start playing offense.

I agree with vhx. In your case, your manager IS part of the Honeywell problem.

In my case, our current project budgets can’t support > 40 hrs, and they are about to turn off the charge number. It is up to managers to make sure our workload is level set. It is not up to the employees to go find billable work.

vxh’s manager is an abomination…

Your manager sucks. But Honeywell is a terrible company to work for. Benefits are atrocious. Work life balance is a disgrace. Zero career development.

But hey, DA and his friends get their huge pay rises and bonus so it’s not all bad. Don’t forget the VPs who are without competence. IT that is truly laughable. Honeywell is not very good.

Oh and then they spend Honeywell money to come onto layoff and downvote everything.
