A lot of people at DXC are just wasting their time and stagnating. Isn't that true? I hope, however, that most are looking for a job, even though it's not easy to get a new offer right now?
Despite the fact that I've been applying for a long time and have not received an offer yet, I am not discouraged, I continue to send applications, expand my circle of contacts and hope that it will pay off in the end.

And type #666, who are in the gang which includes the $26M invisible man and $5M invisible lady
This was me: Sometimes #1 and #2 are the same person. Such as me.
Regarding being lazy or not learning as someone posted - neither one applies to me. I'm actually a key person in a major database conversion and I am actually the guy who is writing the conversion code itself. I also get pulled in to help "offshore" automate large tasks they would do manually (example deleting 700,340 files off migration). If I didn't write automated methods to do this, they would create the commands manually.
Regarding training - I am a mainframe person. I started mainframes in January 1980 and for the most part, the mainframe today is pretty much the same mainframe as when I started. Some call it "legacy systems", but we call it "a stable as he-l workhorse".
I know several people in my world who would love to get the WFR package to begin early retirement, and some who are scared to death of it because they didn't save any money their whole life. But, I don't know anyone who is lazy or who wouldn't bend over backwards to support our mainframe customers. That mindset simply doesn't cut it (maybe because there are so few of us left and we're busier than he-l).

Your #0 is made up of largely #2... if I were 2 years away from retirement, I would tick all the boxes that you have mentioned...
Sometimes #1 and #2 are the same person. Such as me.
You left out #0: the lazy ones who lack motivation to learn, don't have a current and compelling resume, never do practice interviews, are afraid to try anything new.
@OP+1jA6cpBz-
There are essentially 3 kinds of DXC employees at the moment
(1) N A huge number of people who are currently hanging around are doing so for a WFR scheme to come along where they stand to gain a windfall severance benefit... many of them are on legacy terms and conditions that feeds into a generous severance package via the WFR route... but not so much via the voluntary resignation route.
(2)A good number is close to retirement and just cannot bother to get a new job at this juncture.
(3)Another large chunk if employees are freshers from college who have no experience, who are currently the darlings of the management owing to their relatively low cost... they have no immediate reason to leave, but are terrible when it comes to getting anything done owing to their lack of skills and experience...this is the bunch that is being pushed down the throat of various accounts to reduce cost.. and often keeping the client in the dark that absolute rookies are being pushed on to their precious IT estate with minimal or no training and enormous potential to cause damage. This bunch is not an immediate attrition risk but will be so in 2-3 years' time, by which time fresher batches would come in to replace them.
So, that is basically the composition of DXC employees at the moment...that is why you don't see people leaving in droves. A large number have good reasons to stay back.
If and when the next round of WFRs is announced, the first category will leave en-masse, and will be replaced by the third category, at which point all delivery will fall apart and there will be utter chaos. That scenario has already played out on a lesser scale across some accounts.
Either look for a new job, or keep learning new skills from resources that you can find online for free. The main goal is personal and professional growth. DXC won't do this for you as is evident in the outdated course material that is offered.
Good advice OP. Hope people taking so much effort to find another job also do their work in DXC as well!
