Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I expect to be compensated properly for my work

I don't think that's too much to ask. I don't have many complaints about my job, but this has become a huge issue for me. Since I've started looking at what's available, I was able to confirm just how underpaid I am at Honeywell. I mentioned this to my manager and he brushed me off. I'm now seriously considering taking one of the offers even though I wasn't planning to.

@1vsb Yeah, I'm one of those useless managers that gets rewarded with a f#@k-ton of cash. And I'm within 5 years of retirement. I'm not going anywhere soon and I'm sure not going to rock the boat. If they RIF me it'll be worth about $140k. I'll accept that.

When it comes to compensation and thinking about your career, you're damn right that "I" is what has to be the focus. Noboby but you is going to take care of you. Honeywell is going to abuse you as much and as for as long as you allow. They severely underpay people that actually do work so they can reward the overbloated and useless managers a f#@k-ton of cash. The depth and width of the stupidity caused by greed is breathtaking. Those hanging around in the abusive relationship are usually in one of three categories:

  1. Newbies that will figure it out and leave within 3 years.
  2. Personnel within 5 years of retirement.
  3. People who have been institutionalized at Honeywell and can't break free.
  4. Managers that drank the koolaid and have become Golums themselves.

Ok? So if you are not a fan of what is being said then you are welcome to go somewhere else? Free speech does not require prior approval from people such as yourself.

Does the idea of free speech make you feel uncomfortable or are you just another miserable HR person tasked to keep people from speaking their mind over here?

Most common word used by @OP is “ I “.

Yet another Toby Keith fan.

I wanna talk about me, Wanna talk about I ,Wanna talk about number one

Do you think that a threat to leave will cause the powers that be to rethink their shameful ways? No. It just means that one more employee has announced that they will be a bit harder to control until they leave, and their response to that will be "Good riddance".

HON compensation reminds me of a Dilbert cartoon. Dilbert asks the manager - if the company claims they only hire the "brightest and the best", why do they pay only average salaries? Manager's reply: "We like them bright but clueless."

You are only as valuable as the amount you will accept for work. Notice that word “you”.
Fake victim.

You leaving and maybe being replaced by low-cost labor increases the bottom line. The company leaders would love that. Cut any feelings you have for Honeywell and take that new job. Otherwise your misery will grow within a company that doesn’t care about you.
