Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Why are you so worried about attrition?

I mean, if the company isn’t concerned about attrition, and it seems it's not, then why should any of us be concerned about it?

Some will now say that they have a lot of work to do, but I was certainly overwhelmed even before some of my colleagues left. Even if they want to add more to my plate, it is certainly not possible because it would be physically impossible to work so much.

My hours are 8 in a day, if it takes longer than 8 then it gets pushed to the next day. There is nothing that is life or death, that makes one have to work overtime (and not get paid for it). If you say your over worked then its YOUR FAULT! Need to learn now to say NO.

The plan is to push those that have been with the legacy companies out because they “make too much money” already. In the past they just wfr’d them but now it’s all about metrics so they have done away with that and are looking for new ways they can shovel bs wrapped in a bow to the folks in the L1-6 roles, while the exec level suits take home millions.

I wrote this in another thread: What makes you think attrition isn’t the plan?

Get rid of the expensive knowledgeable employees without messy redundancies or WFRs, and bring in cheaper but way less experienced employees. It’s the old meme, but without the ??? step:

  1. Encourage attrition
  2. Cheap hires
  3. Profit!

@OP+1eydC0QO: - project mgr ? - or choice 3 do bear minimum hours like typical managers at DXC and people given up and let others do the donkey work

@OP+1eydC0QO: Only one of those options yields a decent outcome.
