Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Seagate Is The Best

Everyone is looking forward for the severance package (SP) and this is the main mentality across from boss, peers and colleagues working in Seagate.

No one talks about work just focused on money. Of course, money always win!!!!

If no SP, carry on working at least still have a job during this pandemic. Else will be "fortunate" enough to get the SP equivalent hitting a "jackpot".

Seagate is the best for retirement, what do you Seagters think?

Seagate needs to take a long look at all of its managers. Need to redeploy them or eject them.

I don't know about the rest of Seagate, but the CIO made life for US employees absolute he-l by doing significant lay-offs 6 of the last 8 years.

The reason why people become so focused on the severance is because there's no organizational stability. After the big lay-offs in 2008-2009, there was maybe a 3-4 year period without any big cuts. I've never seen Seagate management try to ride out a 2 quarter rough patch without a lay-off, even if the company just wasn't as profitable as they wanted.
