Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Allstate marketing continues to fail HARD

So after they sign the washed up wench Alicia Keys now we have a commercial of a car jumping rope? Really??? Does the marketing department really think these are cute and appealing to the masses in trying to select their insurance representation? The singing hood ornament and house driving down the road were just awesome marketing plans geniuses. The increase in our P & C market share just ballooned with those eh? Maybe the clueless and brainless failures in the marketing department should be ripe for layoffs.

I’m sure they cut loose the former agency of record and looked for a cheaper one during the last RFP.

Based on other comments, definitely not surprised that Allstate would come up with the creative and then have the AOR handle the execution based on the recent concepts. Fits within Allstate’s outlook that only they know best

Or in the game if good/fast/cheap they chose the last two and a couple ad execs went home to their kids and asked what the funniest thing on tv was that day.

GEICO had a coup sponsoring the Field of Dreams game. Now that’s smart marketing. The blather put out by our marketing group, including singing carhops ornament…..just embarrassing.

We spent all that money on a singer to talk in our commercials...without showing her face. A singer....talking. Does the advertising people realize the only thing we can tell is that it's an african american woman talking? How much money did we spend for that? She sings. She's known for her singing voice. This isn't hard.

omg i wanted to rush out and buy insurance when I saw the lady rolling in garbage.

Market share here it comes!!!

Sad part will be the current TG id--ts will have cut more jobs, the investors are too d-mb too know about boards like this, and it will drive whats left of the company into the ground before they all parachute out

This post is very relevant to the direction Allstate is moving to. Allstate dumped Leo Burnett (LB) as it’s lead agency in 2020. IMHO LB had an iconic 60 year relationship with Allstate. LB created the “Good Hands”, the Dennis Haysbert “That’s Our Stand, “ and the Mayhem franchises. Creative work is done in house and by 72 and Sunny. The new Ad agency is Droga5 out of NY.

I happen to agree, the new Ads are less impactful to me. However, my opinion and the author of this post’s opinions do not matter. What matters is the bottom line and growth. The bottom line is on fire right now but will be under pressure as we come back online as a country from the Covid 19 pandemic. Growth is on life support. Allstate picked up 44k Independent distribution points with the Nat Gen purchase. Furthermore, a ridiculous amount of money is being thrown at Allstate Direct channel advertising. 2 quarters into this grand experiment has yielded less than 1% growth in 2021.

Speaking our minds on the new advertising is fun. However, stock performance will be the final judge and jury on this subject.
