I don't understand how they think it is sustainable, whenever someone leaves their work passes on to those who remain. Ever since my colleague left, his job has been done mostly by me. Now there is a person who was supposed to be a replacement but the work of a former colleague is still being done by me.
In the meantime, another colleague is counting down the days until departure and I really don't know how it will work because I don't want to and I can't do any extra work anymore because I'm on the verge of burnout. On the other hand, I believe I could end up on the layoff list in case I talk to my superior about being more than overwhelmed?

I really need to reach out to former colleagues at Refinitive, but most of them are gone now. I probably know a few who have made it through both transactions. With DC and DW gone, there are good odds things will improve. Call back some of the good leaders that the little cabal drove away...that would be a good start.
But there's no easy fix for the lack of adequate investment in that massive infrastructure, and the fact that they're just too behind the curve to adapt to the new market. In a space where even Bloomberg is running scared from data commoditization, Refinitive doesn't have much promise.
Welcome to the reality of TR and Rifinitiv.
They are constantly making it look profitable to Shareholders by RIF. They haven't created on thing successfully in years and years. They keep acquiring new products, base their operational belief that all products can be sold to clients like a subscription transaction.
They don't understand the legacy product, but drive it into the ground because they don't understand the products or what they do.
LSE is a utility. Refinitiv is a shaky application. You do not send a plumber in to do a salesman work. Good Luck Ya'll!
@OP+1cVh0nxZ The only "reward" you get from this company is more work when someone leaves. No acknowledgement of extra pay for extra work. Why should you burn yourself out for them? There is way better out there, so take that first step and find something else. You won't regret it.
the chaos the integration has done to the company is simply overwhelming and has been dragged out for over 9 months straight now. Projects take months to kick off, but merely weeks to be completed. No one knows anything. There are constant changes, constant confusion, constant insecurity. People are pushed around between structures like potato sacks with visibly less respect and thought-through communication. I've been with the company for many years, and have never lost my sense of belonging and attachment so much. As above, I don't think this company is worth being given time to settle down anymore. Sadly, its once well-deserved prestige of a quality company to work for is long gone now.
This never ends. Tomorrow will always be worse than today. Next week, even worse. There are never enough people to do the work and managers are only looking out for themselves. Each project is completed in the fastest, cheapest way possible. No one cares about quality. This cycle never ends.
If you leave, your work goes to some other unsuspecting worker. No one cares. Such a negative environment for every worker.
If you can find another job, jump and don't look back. It's been a very long time since this was a quality company to work for.
Here's some honest, if painful advice. Start working on your resume and looking for a new job, if only for your own sanity. The senior leadership are jumping off with their golden parachutes and don't give a flying cr*p about you. Your superior likely can't help you because there is no funding for appropriate staff levels. I've been through this at other companies and the light they promise you at the end of the tunnel is the train coming full speed.
Take care of yourself first.
