Thread regarding Resideo Technologies layoffs

What is Resideo's Strategy?

So, in the last 12-18 months we have fired the CEO, CFO, CTO, President of P&S (twice), and a few VPGMs.

Most recently, with the firing of the President of Products, we asked the chief transformation officer (whatever that means) to step in and assume the role... btw, who still has not updated his LinkedIn profile to show that he is a Resideo employee (tells you a lot)...

So now what? ... what is the go forward strategy?

The ceo is saying things like, "we are doubling down...", "we are well positioned to...", "we are approaching new heights and levels...", which is like telling a child to not be terrified as the boat is approaching a waterfall and that the waterfall is actually "fun".

It is obviously clear to me that the strategy is to sell and sell fast. If they miss this opportunity to sell the pieces of resideo, we will be like Quibi... a shiny new object with no buyers interested.

How the security leadership team survived the many bloodbaths is, quite frankly, amazing. The failures of that team is mind blowing, especially as you consider the market opportunities that exist out there today. What is security's strategy? Oh yea... release a platform that is already 3 years old and see if it sells; ignore the fact that adc and all other competitors are doubling down on innovative software solutions as they release hardware every 3 months. This is doom city. If I could put an emoji up on this post it would be the pirates jumping off of the side of the ship as multiple canon balls approach. For those of you who don't get it... abandon ship!

putting Lipstick on a pig... is it still a pig?
Yes, but why not get rich doing it! Sadly this is where we are going. We will see many speeches in the next week and months, while a crew pillages the company. I notice that with each cycle of leader, we get more and more people that are into bringing their "family".
lets see....
We started with a few... Spin: former CEO and CTO... they got quite wealthy out of it... but the number of "family" was low... a couple..., one in engineering.
Then we got a board that went president and cumulated a few salaries.... brought in moobs. Who brought in 3? people. Got wealthy too.
Now 3rd cycle, what is the count? already 7? 10?
Pattern? it gets worse each cycle in term of cronyism, nepotism.
We are setting a record for the pillaging. And we have to pay those... with packages at least in the 500K. Whining about it? well we started it... remember all those VPGMs and promos? We have a moral issue and attract the same or worse

Latest strategy is same than moobs
Promote incompetence....
Get rid of all the business leaders that have achieved nothing for the past 2 years... (either firing or demoting then cutting their $.)
Those leaders have not done much except getting richly, buying boats and stuff (shady is a prime example) and AMZ won’t save him from what’s coming

@3gze, hope they demote or layoff those “business” “marketing” incompetence stars ...
“storm, quicksilver. Not even a real scalable prototype in grips....and titan... it’s a titan in term of money sunk into it. It’s like granite
Hopefully someone will clean house before the sale.

This company is full of people producing a large volume of BS.... the prez was a victim of it. Could not pull the trigger on getting rid of the bullS. Not the focus is on all the people in the business and marketing. I say clean them all out. Somebody needs to take the trash out

Lot of issues causing problems in Resi are all those acquisitions that were poorly made... prime example are the water garbage from Californians get rich people, video technologies in France .... all no only do not bring a real return on the investment but they sink everything else they touch and bring a very destructive culture

PM0 is political. Is know to have been best buddy to first CTO, best buddy to moobs, and now s—ing up to the current CTO
Deserves to be sent from GV to Austin to be with buddies in software.
Don’t trust... equal opportunity backstabber

Lol maybe the real flesh light was actually PMO-GV!
The PMO in Austin can replace fast and easier on the eyes and smart to boot

PMO? Notice the PMO in GV has the habit of s-king up to whoever is in charge, turn against the rest and just keep doing the same than Austin. Who brought in rezi ? The first CTO best friends isn’t? If someone is friend with everyone means friends with no one and back stabber king already BSing the new CTO already no doubt, but no more than a PM...

If stuff doesn’t work.. why do we have PMO? They cost a lot and don’t do anything much except asking for more money. Projects get delayed and spin and spin. Clean up should start there . Enough of those . Especially in GV and UK

Those directors people are bad karma for Resideo and bring bad to the company.
We need to do a pooja and get them out

Lurch and flashlight, please stop talking about sold off in pieces and anti Hon rants.
Maybe you can both find Another Corp to try to sink

Anybody saying this company will be sold off in pieces until it’s gone...has no clue.

Transformation means puts and takes....

What a great read on a Saturday! @OP you laid it all out there. Love your child & waterfall analogy. @ewv oh to be an executive with a contract that does not bind you to results. If you increase this by.. then you get this XYZ. If you fail, then you get nada. What happened to accountability in the C-Suite?? And finally, @pbe I do agree Chief Transformation Officer of what? If it wasn’t so funny I’d be crying. My take-away? No products. No solutions.

What makes you think selling is actually an option? We have a gigantic amount of debt that we owe HW. Not to mention an obscene amount of pending lawsuits. That isn't just going to disappear. The C-suite wasn't picked to turn this thing around. This is obvious from their non-committal contracts. They are babysitting our slow burn. There is no changing the inertia of this behemoth. If you are spending time thinking about how this company will succeed instead of preparing for the inevitable, you are just being stubborn and irresponsible.

I agree with a lot of what you wrote but not all of it.

  • the chief transformation officer (whatever that means)... The funniest thing I read all week.

Clearly there are more changes coming to S&P. Right now the new president only has the Two Bobs reporting to him. The rest of us are still aligned under the ghost of the previous president. At least that was how the org chart looked yesterday.
